Can this page rank - and will people click it?
Page SEO, explained.
What does the Page SEO Checker look at?
One page, the way a search engine meets it: whether it can be crawled and listed (robots.txt, noindex, canonical, sitemap), how it shows up in Google, what its link preview looks like, whether its content gives it a chance to rank, and mobile basics.
Why would a page not show up in Google?
Most often something tells Google to stay away: a robots.txt rule, a noindex tag, or a canonical tag pointing at another page. Pages that aren’t in the sitemap and have few links to them can also go unnoticed for a long time. The first section of the report checks all of these.
How long should a title and description be?
Keep titles under about 60 characters and descriptions between roughly 120 and 160 - past that, Google usually cuts them off. Put the words people search for first, and make the description a reason to click.
How many words does a page need to rank?
There’s no magic number - a page needs enough to fully answer what people searched for. Pages with only a few lines rarely rank for anything competitive, so we flag anything under 300 words as thin.
Why does the link preview matter for SEO?
It doesn’t change rankings directly, but a shared link with a clear image and title gets far more clicks - and more visits, links and mentions over time. LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Facebook and Slack all build the preview from your Open Graph tags.
My site is built with JavaScript. Will the results be accurate?
We read the page as it’s first delivered, before any JavaScript runs - the same way link previews and many crawlers do. If your content or tags are only added by JavaScript, they won’t show up here, and search engines may take longer to see them too.
